Screening of A New Kind of Listening Sat, Oct, 4th @ 7pm at the Peterborough Community Theatre in Peterborough, NH. The event is hosted by Turning Point Theater, a co-creative theater group directed by Richard Reho. Richard founded and directed the Community Inclusive Theater Group in NC which became the subject of the documentary. A panel discussion will follow the screening.

This project is a great example of how our model for organizing local committees to plan screenings can jump start grassroots inclusive arts work.

Arts and Disability Community Forum on August 8, 2010 at 4:30 pm at NC Museum of Natural Sciences, 11 West Jones Street, Raleigh, NC. Screening of the film followed by a town hall discussion around inclusive arts possibilities in the Raleigh area. Light refreshments will be provided. Film’s Inclusive Arts Campaign Showcased at Triangle Access Awards Presentation 2010

A New Kind of Listening’s inclusive arts campaign will be showcased at the Triangle Access Awards Presentation and Reception on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 6:30 pm at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh. Our film was a 2009 award recipient, and the Alliance of Disability Advocates is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act with a Walk of Fame of past recipients and a showcase of artists with disabilities. The NC Museum of Natural Sciences is located at 11 West Jones Street in downtown Raleigh.

New Website, DVD’s available

A New Kind of Listening launched its newly redesigned website June 12. The new site will support the project’s goal: to use screening events to inform and inspire inclusive arts projects across the US and around the world. The website allows organizations and individuals to purchase Community Screening Kits, DVD packages, and T-shirts and integrate with an online screening registration utility at Working Films. An Organizer’s Toolkit will be available for download to support event organizers and offer guidance on how to plan a successful event.

Interweave Asheville announces the first inclusive arts, theater and improv workshop
