The film and Inclusive Arts Campaign travel to the 2011 TASH Conference in Atlanta this week for two events. A New Kind of Listening screens on Thursday, Dec. 1st @ 4:45pm. And on Friday, Dec. 2nd @ 9:45am Polly will offer a workshop entitled, “How to Start an Inclusive Community Arts Project with No Money”.
At Cinema Paradiso on November 11th, during the closing day of the 26th Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, A New Kind of Listening was given a standing ovation. 
Polly attended the Q&A and shared two comments from the audience: “This film should be seen by every human on the planet” offered one;and another said, “the film was incredibly moving and shifted my whole perspective on life.” Thanks to the festival for their support. The live audio description at the event was the first for the festival, and helped increase community awareness of arts accessibility issues.
Polly was in Washington, D.C. Nov. 7th for the 40th Annual Conference of the Association of University Centers on Disability – a very prestigious conference indeed! The film was selected to screen in the conference’s Media Room, which had a “disability and the arts” theme this year. 
After the screening, Polly shared with the enthusiastic audience how the Inclusive Arts Campaign can be used to create more inclusive communities. Two attendees from the Univ. of Texas hope to bring the film to Austin this Spring.
Reminder about two upcoming events. Polly travels to the 2011 AUCD Conference in Arlington, VA for two screenings in the Media Room on Mon., Nov. 7th @ 1pm and Wed., Nov. 9th @ 3:20pm. She then heads down for a screening at the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival on Fri., Nov. 11th @ 12:45pm at the Cinema Paradiso. The Festival screening will be audio described.
A New Kind of Listening has been selected to screen at the 26th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. The festival takes place between Oct. 21 – Nov. 11, 2011. We look forward to sharing more details about our screening date and hope to network with artists and advocates in the months leading up to the festival screening.
